Just last week, Changan Mazda teased an upcoming SUV. Fast forward to today, and the company has officially unveiled the Mazda EZ-60 — the second model, after the Mazda EZ-6, to be co-developed with Changan.

Drawing inspiration from the Mazda Arata Concept showcased at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show, the EZ-60 retains several design elements from the concept. These include side-view cameras (in place of traditional mirrors), slim LED daytime running lights flanking Mazda’s signature grille, and headlights positioned below the DRLs.

Other standout design cues include a long bonnet (similar to the RWD Mazda CX-60), a sloping roofline, air curtains integrated into the D-pillars, flush door handles, and slim LED tail lights.
Since the Mazda EZ-60 is likely built on the same platform as the EZ-6, it’s expected to share similar powertrain options with its sedan sibling.

Changan Mazda offers the EZ-6 across several powertrain options. The first is a rear-mounted electric motor that does 190 kW (258 PS) and 350 Nm, powered by the choice of two batteries. The first is a 56.1 kWh battery that offers a 480 km CLTC range, while the other is a larger 68.6 kWh battery that offers a 600 km CLTC range.
The other powertrain option on the Mazda EZ-6 is a range-extender (EREV) version that’s powered by a rear-mounted electric motor that outputs 160 kW (217 PS) and 320 Nm, powered by either a 18.9 kWh battery pack with a 130 km CLTC EV range, or a larger 28.4 kWh battery pack with a 200 km CLTC EV range. The EREV versions of the EZ-6 feature a naturally-aspirated 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder JL473QJ petrol engine. Said engine isn’t connected to the wheels, and is only used as a generator to charge the batteries.
Changan Mazda also announced that the Mazda EZ-60 will be making its global debut at the 2025 Auto Shanghai, so stay tuned for that.
