Proton is definitely on a roll these few days – not only has the national carmaker unveiled the highly-anticipated all-new 2025 Proton X50, but today, Proton’s subsidiary Proton New Energy Technology Sdn Bhd (Pro-Net) has unveiled the improved 2025 Proton eMas 7.
The updated 2025 Proton eMas 7 finally offers support for Apple CarPlay (wired and wireless), as well as adding third-party apps and improved safety features – all done via over-the-air (OTA) updates.
2025 Proton eMas 7 gets Obsidian Black as a new colour

Based on customer feedback, Obsidian Black is now available as a new exterior colour for the eMas 7. It joins the existing lineup:
- Lithium White
- Platinum Silver
- Quartz Rose
- Slate Grey
- Turquoise Green
No colours have been dropped, meaning buyers now have six colour options for the 2025 Proton eMas 7 in Malaysia.

Pro-Net also introduced a limited-run Alabaster White interior option, available exclusively for the Quartz Rose and Turquoise Green Premium variants. Only 250 units each will be offered in this configuration.

The Flyme Auto OS that runs the brain of the eMas 7 has also been updated to offer better responsiveness, smoother integration, and support for more third-party apps such as Zoom for Cars, izi.Travel, and Vivaldi Browser.

As mentioned earlier, this new OTA update finally brings support for Apple CarPlay, which can take advantage of the massive 15.4-inch display. That said, Android users would need to wait a bit longer, as Pro-Net mentioned that Android Auto will only arrive towards the end of the year.

Said OTA also introduces new sounds for the low-speed pedestrian warning system – Galactic Note and Space Walk. This is in addition to the “Ice Cream Truck” tune that most people are familiar with.

The front-mounted electric motor is the same as before, producing 160 kW (218 PS) and 320 Nm of torque. The Prime variant gets a 49.52-kWh Geely Aegis short black lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack, offering a range of 345 km under the WLTP test cycle.
Then there’s the Premium which gets a larger 60.22-kWh LFP battery pack that bumps the WLTP-rated range to 410 km. As before, both variants of the Proton eMas 7 supports up to 11 kW of AC charging, but the DC fast charging is different.

The Prime’s DC fast charging goes up to 80 kW, while the Premium takes up to 100 kW. Regardless of the DC fast charging speeds, it takes 30 minutes to charge from 30% to 80% state-of-charge (SoC).
What’s unchanged is the price – the Prime still goes for RM 105,800 while the Premium goes for RM 119,800. Both prices are on-the-road, without insurance.
