After almost 30 years, the iconic Testarossa name returns with the introduction of the 2026 Ferrari 849 Testarossa.
The “8” part of the name refers to the eight cylinders, while the “49” part is derived from the cubic centimeters of each of the Testarossa’s eight cylinders (0.49 L each, total of 4.0 litres).
Set to replace the iconic Ferrari SF90, customer deliveries of the Ferrari 849 Testarossa are set to commence starting Q2 2026.
Powertrain – 1,050 PS enables century sprint of <2.3 seconds

At the core of the 2026 Ferrari 849 Testarossa lies a heavily-revised 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, producing 830 PS at 7,500 rpm and 842 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. Changes to the engine, codenamed F154FC, include a brand-new turbocharger, cylinder heads, engine block, exhaust manifolds, intake plenums, titanium fasteners, valve train system, and fuel rail.
Paired with three electric motors – one at the rear and two at the front axle – the hybrid system contributes another 220 PS, pushing total system output to 1,050 PS.

According to Ferrari, the 2026 Ferrari 849 Testarossa’s 0-100 km/h sprint is rated at less than 2.3 seconds, while the 0-200 km/h sprint takes just 6.35 seconds. Top speed is more than 330 km/h.
Gear changes are handled by a race-derived, 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox whose actuation and control logic have been extensively revised, itself a shift strategy inherited and evolved from the SF90 XX Stradale.

The car delivers instant torque and AWD capability, with the front motors also enabling torque vectoring for improved cornering balance. A compact 7.45 kWh battery allows up to 25 km of pure-electric driving, while Ferrari claims the 849 Testarossa achieves the best power-to-weight ratio ever in a Ferrari road car.
Ferrari engineers have also worked extensively on the acoustic experience. The V8’s exhaust has been redesigned with equal-length manifolds, a reworked flat-plane crankshaft, and lightweight titanium components that sharpen its tone.

The hybrid system of the 2026 Ferrari 849 Testarossa is tuned to complement, rather than mute, the combustion soundtrack, ensuring that even in EV-assisted driving, the signature Ferrari wail is preserved.
Inside, the cabin is equipped with an enhanced sound system that integrates real exhaust notes with active acoustic modulation, giving drivers an immersive experience whether they are at full throttle on track or cruising in EV mode.
Exterior – Throwback from iconic Ferraris from the past

The 2026 Ferrari 849 Testarossa’s design is the work of Ferrari’s Styling Centre led by Flavio Manzoni, and it’s a striking mix of heritage and modern aerodynamics. Its proportions are instantly recognisable as Ferrari, with a long-sculpted bonnet, low-slung profile, and a rear that takes cues from the 512 S sports prototype of the 1970s.

One of the most distinctive elements is the twin-tail rear architecture, which visually splits the tail into two aerodynamic volumes. This isn’t just for aesthetics, as the shape channels airflow to increase stability while echoing Ferrari’s racing prototypes. At the front, slim LED headlights and an aggressive bumper design frame large cooling inlets that feed the petrol-electric hybrid powertrain.

The car sits on aero-optimised forged alloy wheels, which feature sculpted vanes to direct air to the carbon-ceramic brakes, enhancing both performance and efficiency. Even the rear diffuser is integrated seamlessly into the bodywork, balancing form and function.
Ferrari says these refinements give the 2026 Ferrari 849 Testarossa 415 kg of downforce at 250 km/h, while also improving cooling by 15% compared to its predecessor.
Interior – The place to be in

Step inside the 2026 Ferrari 849 Testarossa and it’s clear Ferrari wanted to blend race car focus with GT-level comfort. The cockpit draws inspiration from Ferrari’s single-seaters, with a clean horizontal dashboard layout that visually widens the cabin while keeping the driver at the centre of attention.

The redesigned central tunnel now features an exposed shifter-gate design, itself a nod to the iconic gated manuals of classic Ferraris, but modernised with electronic controls.

Following the 2026 Ferrari Amalfi, the steering wheel of the 849 Testarossa features a more compact design with drive-mode selectors and physical buttons instead of touch-sensitive controls, improving ergonomics and precision.

Behind the wheel, a fully digital instrument cluster provides a configurable display of performance data, while the 12.3-inch central screen manages infotainment (with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto), navigation, and Ferrari’s advanced driver aids. Passengers get their own slim 8.8-inch side display, reinforcing the sense of shared involvement in the driving experience.

Materials are of the highest craftsmanship, with a choice of carbon fibre, Alcantara, or fine leathers, alongside new colour themes unique to this model.
Customers can opt for comfort seats with electric adjustment, or lightweight carbon-fibre racing seats if track days are a priority. Ambient lighting and carefully sculpted panels make the cabin feel more spacious without losing its driver-first philosophy.

Technology and safety – 849 Testarossa debuts ABS Evo
Ferrari debuts its latest ABS Evo system in the 2026 Ferrari 849 Testarossa, which works with the FIVE (Ferrari Integrated Vehicle Estimator) digital twin platform. This continuously predicts grip levels, suspension load, and balance, allowing the car’s systems to adjust in real time.

On the safety side, modern driver assistance features such as Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), and Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) are available, ensuring the car remains usable in daily driving as well as on the track.
Buyers seeking the ultimate track-ready package can specify the Assetto Fiorano option, which sheds 30 kg, upgrades the suspension, and adds additional aerodynamic elements.
Like every Ferrari, the 2026 Ferrari 849 Testarossa is backed by the brand’s 7-year maintenance programme. Hybrid system components are covered for five years as standard, with extended warranties of up to 16 years available for long-term peace of mind, including the high-voltage (HV) battery.
