
Now that sales data for September 2025 is out, we can dive into the top-10 best-selling Chinese EVs in Malaysia.

Sitting right on top of the list is the 2025 Proton eMas 7, with a total of 757 units sold last month. In terms of year-to-date (YTD) figures, the eMas 7 reigns supreme, with a total of 6,212 units – the highest of any single EV sold in Malaysia.
Trailing in second place is the 2025 BYD Sealion 7. In September, a total of 237 units found new homes, bringing the YTD numbers to 2,709 units.

Third place went to the 2025 BYD Atto 3, with 302 units sold. The Atto 3’s YTD figures stood at 2,665 units – hence why it’s place in third place, behind the Sealion 7.
Sitting in fourth spot is the 2025 BYD M6 with 85 units sold last month. From January till September, BYD sold a total of 1,261 units of the M6.

In fifth place is the 2025 BYD Seal. Last month, a total of 61 units were sold, bringing the YTD figures to 886 units.

The sixth spot is occupied by the 2025 Denza D9 with 63 units sold last month. This luxury EV MPV’s YTD figures are at 850 units.
In 7th position is the recently-launched 2025 BYD Atto 2. Last month, 285 units were sold, bringing the YTD figures to 751 units. The BYD Atto 2 also marks the sixth BYD model to be placed on our top-10 list.

With 60 units sold last month, the 2025 Zeekr 009 is positioned in the eighth spot. A total of 627 units were sold YTD.
In ninth position is the 2025 Chery Omoda E5 with 60 units sold. YTD figures for Chery’s EV are at 554 units.
Sitting in the tenth spot of our list is the 2025 Xpeng G6 with 63 units sold, bringing the YTD figures to 527 units.
