Following its initial preview back in April, Chery has just unveiled the brand-new 2026 Omoda 4. When it was first shown back then, the model was called the Omoda 3, but Chery has renamed it to the name you see here during the unveiling.
What is the 2026 Omoda 4?
As the name suggests, the Omoda 4 is a model that slots beneath the Chery O5, despite both models sharing a 4.4 meter length.

Unlike the swoopy-looking Chery O5, the Omoda 4 adopts what Chery calls the ‘Cyber Mecha’ design language. Fancy name aside, the exterior of the Omoda 4 is devoid of any curves; its sharp and angular, from bumper-to-bumper.
Up front, the Omoda 4 gets eye-grabbing LED headlights, sitting atop a pentagonal-shaped lower air intake, with what looks like LED fog lights resting on each upper edge.

Towards the rear and thankfully the Omoda 4 is a bit more toned down. There’s a one-piece LED tail light that stretches the full-width of the rear-end, with kinks at each end. Sharp lighting elements nestled within the tail light give the Omoda 4 a refreshing look.

Chery also displayed the sportier Omoda 4 Ultra, a kitted up version of this subcompact SUV. The Omoda 4 Ultra is finished in yellow, with a set of fan blade-shape, dual-tone wheels and large rear spoiler. No word on whether the Ultra offers more performance or improved handling compared to the regular Omoda 4.

Inside, there’s a pair of digital displays, one smaller one that serves as a digital instrument cluster and a larger portrait-style infotainment display. There’s even a red engine start/stop button that pay tribute to a certain Italian SUV.
In-line with other models under the larger Chery umbrella, the upcoming Omoda 4 is expected to offer a host of powertrains, including regular petrol options and electrified options (Chery Super Hybrid, anyone?).
