Mitsubishi Triton Championship Edition Launched in Malaysia, Inspired by AXCR 2025 Victory, from RM 155,980

Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) has launched the Triton Championship Edition, a limited-run special edition commemorating the brand’s championship win at the Asia Cross Country Rally (AXCR) 2025. It will be officially available on 11 March 2026 in two variants: the Triton Athlete and the Triton AT Premium.

Overview

The Triton Championship Edition is a limited production special edition offered on top of the existing Triton lineup. It combines motorsports-inspired styling elements with enhanced equipment not available on standard Triton models. The Triton Athlete is limited to 150 units and available exclusively in Jet Black Mica, while the Triton AT Premium is limited to 120 units and available exclusively in White Diamond. The Triton Athlete is priced at RM 169,980 and the Triton AT Premium at RM 155,980, both on the road without insurance.

Customers who book either variant will receive an exclusive key fob case cover and a motorsports sticker pack.

Exterior

Both Championship Edition variants receive distinctive body decals as a common addition. The Triton Athlete gets All-Terrain tyres for improved grip across varied driving conditions, while the Triton AT Premium is differentiated by 18-inch black sports rims, a styling bar, and a front lower bumper garnish.

Interior

Both variants receive championship aesthetic headrest covers inspired by Mitsubishi’s rally heritage. The Triton Athlete additionally gains a 9-inch infotainment system and an All-Round Monitor for improved visibility and manoeuvring assistance.

Powertrain

The Triton Athlete is powered by a 2.4-litre 4N16 diesel engine with a two-stage turbocharging system, producing 204 PS and 470 Nm of torque. It is paired with the Super Select 4WD-II system, offering four modes: 2H, 4H, 4HLc, and 4LLc, and seven drive modes including Eco, Gravel, Snow, Mud, Sand, and Rock. The Athlete also comes with Active Yaw Control (AYC) for improved cornering performance.

The Triton AT Premium uses a 2.4-litre 4N16 turbodiesel producing 184 PS and 430 Nm, paired with the Easy Select 4WD system offering 2H, 4H, and 4L modes.

Both variants ride on a newly developed frame chassis and suspension setup.

Triton AT Premium Championship Edition

In addition to the standard Triton AT Premium’s equipment, the Championship Edition adds:

  • Championship aesthetic headrest covers

The Triton AT Premium uses the Easy Select 4WD system (2H, 4H, 4L) in place of the Athlete’s Super Select 4WD-II.
