Proton has just dropped a teaser of the upcoming Proton X90 MC – the company’s fourth model after the X50, X70, and S70 to receive the new 1.5 turbo i-GT engine. The new model is scheduled to launch this coming Wednesday (11-March 2026).
While the teaser is a short 20-second video, we can speculate that the X90 MC will likely adopt the same feature set as its updated siblings, including an upgraded infotainment system.

Here, the Proton X90 MC adopts the same turbocharged 1.5-litre BHE15 four-cylinder petrol engine as its stablemates, producing 181 PS and 290 Nm, mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic (DCT). Now, power figures are marginally down, as the X90 MC drops the 48V mild-hybrid (MHEV) system, including the belt-starter generator (BSG) that added 13 PS and 45 Nm, bringing the total system output to 190 PS and 300 Nm.
