2026 Ferrari Amalfi launched in Malaysia: 3.9L twin-turbo V8, 640 PS, 760 Nm, est. RM 1.09 million

Less than one year since making its global debut, Ferrari has launched the 2026 Ferrari Amalfi in Malaysia. Deriving its name from the picturesque Amalfi coast in Italy, the new model is the spiritual successor to the Ferrari Roma.

Overview

Seeing that the Ferrari Amalfi supersedes the Roma, it too features a similar layout, there’s a front-mid-mounted V8 and rear-wheel drive layout.

In Europe, prices of the Ferrari Amalfi start from EUR 240,000, before options and taxes. For us in Malaysia, that’s about RM 1.09 million at current exchange rates before duties, taxes and customization options.

Exterior

The Amalfi’s design follows a minimalist approach built around sculpted surfaces and clean lines. The front does away with a traditional grille, replaced by a floating body-coloured wing above a dark recessed band that discreetly integrates sensors and headlights. A lower splitter completes the front end. The long bonnet runs back to a wedge-shaped side profile with lighting units integrated into technical cuts along the body.

At the rear, a strong character line wraps around the entire volume, with tail lights hidden within graphic cuts. A wide diffuser sits below, while an active mobile wing is integrated into the tail. The wing operates automatically across three configurations — Low Drag (LD), Medium Downforce (MD), and High Downforce (HD) — depending on speed and driving conditions. In HD configuration, it generates an additional 110 kg of downforce at 250 km/h with less than a 4% increase in drag.

The hero colour is Verde Costiera, a teal green inspired by the Amalfi coast. Wheels are 20-inch, wrapped in either Bridgestone Potenza Sport or Pirelli P ZERO tyres as standard — both co-developed with Ferrari. Tyre dimensions are 245/35R20 at the front and 285/35R20 at the rear.

Interior

The Amalfi uses a dual-cockpit layout, with the driver and passenger each enclosed in visually connected cells linked by the dashboard, door panels, and central tunnel. The dashboard features a monolithic layout where the instrument cluster and air vents are fused into a single block. The central tunnel is milled from anodized aluminium and houses the gear selector gate, key slot, wireless charging pad, and secondary controls.

The 2+ configuration allows the rear seats to be used for additional cargo capacity or occasional use by children. Upholstery and trim options include carbon fibre details and contrasting stitching. Optional comfort seats are available in three sizes, equipped with 10 air chambers for massage functions across five programmes and three intensity levels, along with seat and backrest ventilation.

The optional Burmester Premium Audio System features 14 speakers and 1,200 watts of power.

Powertrain

Power for the 2026 Ferrari Amalfi comes from a twin-turbo 3.9-litre V8 that cranks out 640 PS at 7,500 rpm and 760 Nm of torque from 3,000 rpm to 5,750 rpm. Redline of the Amalfi is 7,600 rpm.

Despite sharing its base with the Ferrari Roma, the one that powers the Amalfi now revs faster than the Roma, courtesy of new, lightweight camshafts that are roughly one-third the weight of the Roma, as well as improved intake and exhaust, new ECU from the 296 GTB, and a maximum turbo speed of up to 171,000 rpm.

Drive is routed to the rear wheels via an eight-speed dual-clutch (DCT) automatic transmission. This oil-bath automatic transmission that was first introduced in the SF90 Stradale features a more potent TCU (transmission control unit) and more deeply integrated with the ECU for smoother and quicker shifts.

The 2026 Ferrari Amalfi completes the 0-100 km/h sprint in just 3.3 seconds, while the 0-200 km/h sprint is completed in 9 seconds flat. Top speed is 320 km/h.
