Proton posted 18,156 units in April 2026, bringing its year-to-date total to 67,298 units, marking a 40.9% jump over the same period in 2025. The company is targeting 200,000 units for the full year.
Proton’s April market share is estimated at 25%, with its year-to-date (YTD) share forecast at 26.4%. For context, the broader Malaysian market grew 17.7% in April year-on-year (YoY), but the year-to-date (YTD) TIV growth is a more modest 1.8% — meaning Proton is outpacing the market by a significant margin.
The Proton Saga bounced back strongly in April after supply constraints weighed on February and March sales. 8,207 units were delivered in April, marking an increase of 50.9% over March, thus bringing its year-to-date (YTD) total to 29,977 units, a 42.8% increase over 2025.

The Proton S70 posted its best-ever monthly sales figure with 2,377 units in April, bringing its year-to-date (YTD) total to 8,175 units, up 32.3% year-on-year (YoY). The model was updated in February with revised exterior styling and Proton’s 1.5-litre four-cylinder i-GT turbocharged engine.

On the SUV front, the Proton X50 sold 2,603 units in April, bringing its year-to-date (YTD) total to 10,174 units and retaining its position as the best-selling B-segment SUV. The Proton X90 continues its recovery with 462 units in April, marking its best month since December 2023 and a 43% increase over March. Year-to-date (YTD) X90 sales are up 28.1% over 2025.

As for Pro-Net, Proton’s New Energy Vehicle (NEV) arm set a new monthly sales record in April with 3,420 units delivered, bringing its year-to-date (YTD) total to 11,664 units.
The eMas 5 led the charge with 1,771 units in April, bringing its YTD total to 8,473 units, recording the highest of any EV model in Malaysia. The eMas 7 posted its third consecutive month of growth with 636 units, bringing its YTD total to 1,436 units.

The standout performer was the eMas 7 PHEV, which delivered 1,013 units in its second full month of sales, strong enough to make it the best-selling PHEV in Malaysia. YTD deliveries stand at 1,755 units, with more expected as supply catches up with demand.
