
Bridgestone Tyre Sales (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd has been officially announced as the exclusive tyre supplier for the inaugural GR86 Cup Malaysia Series, the official support race of the highly anticipated Super GT Festival Malaysia 2025.
Set to happen from 26-June to 28-June, the GR86 Cup Malaysia will be the official support race of the Super GT Festival Malaysia 2025. Drivers will be competing in two 10-lap sprint races. Two more races are set to take place later this year too.

The coveted Super GT race returns to Malaysia after a 12-year hiatus, and Malaysia is the sole international round for the 2025 race season, as the other seven races taking place in various circuits across Japan, including Fuji Speedway, Suzuka Circuit, Twin Ring Motegi, Okayama International Circuit, Sportsland Sugo, and Autpolis.
GR86 Cup Malaysia – Here’s what you need to know

Being a one-make race, all competing GR86 race cars share identical specifications, including the Bridgestone Potenza RE-71RS tyres in 225/45R17 size.
Power for the GR86 race cars come from a naturally-aspirated 2.4-litre flat-four petrol engine that does 237 PS and 250 Nm of torque. Modifications include a Fujitsubo exhaust system, transmission oil cooler, Cusco competition clutch, roll cage, Raxer-branded wheels wrapped in the aforementioned RE-71RS tyres, Bride Zeta bucket seats, and a six-point HANS-compliant safety harness. A fire supression system is also built-into these race cars.

The appointment of Bridgestone as the official tyre supplier for the inaugural GR86 Cup Malaysia cements the brand’s heritage in the Super GT race series, as Bridgestone has been supporting numerous championship-winning race teams since the early 2000s.
