Today marks the commencement of the production of the 2025 Suzuki e Vitara at Maruti Suzuki’s Hansalpur plant in Gujarat, India.
According to HindustanTimes, the made-in-India 2025 Suzuki e Vitara will be exported to over 100 countries, including Malaysia and Japan.
India Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “Many companies have increased their trust on India. Till a few years back, EV battery were completely imported (into India). Localisation of battery cells and electrodes will provide a good boost to India’s EV infrastructure.”
What do I need to know about the 2025 Suzuki e Vitara?
Depending on market, the Suzuki e Vitara can be had with:
- 49-kWh LFP battery – single-motor, FWD, 106 kW (144 PS), 189 Nm, 342 km WLTP
- 61-kWh LFP battery – single-motor, FWD, 128 kW (174 PS), 189 Nm, 424 km WLTP
- 61-kWh ALLGRIP-e – dual-motor, AWD, 135 kW (184 PS), 300 Nm, 394 km WLTP
As for charging, the 2025 Suzuki e Vitara supports up to 90 kW DC fast charging, and up to 6 kW of AC charging.
Underpinning the 2025 Suzuki e Vitara is the Heartect-e platform, which Suzuki says is “A Pure Electric platform engineered to lay the foundations for the next generation of Maruti Suzuki Electric cars”. The compact car specialist also added that the Heartect-e platform “has been specially engineered to support the weight of larger batteries and offers a seamless connection to the eAXLE. This improves efficiency, reliability, and the overall performance.” It looks like we can expect more electrified Suzuki models to feature the same platform.
When will the 2025 Suzuki e Vitara launch in Malaysia?
It’s no secret that that the 2025 Suzuki e Vitara will come to Malaysia. Local Suzuki distributor, Naza Eastern Motors, recently posted a teaser of the e Vitara, hinting at its eventual launch here.
But before that happens, Naza Eastern Motors will be launching the 2025 Suzuki Fronx here first, very likely with a hybrid powertrain.
