Mercedes-Benz has just revealed the all-new 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLC with EQ Technology. For the first time ever, the company’s best-selling model will debut as a fully-electric (EV) model. The brand-new GLC with EQ Technology was developed from the ground up as an EV.
At launch, Mercedes-Benz will offer the GLC 400 4MATIC. Four more variants of the model will be introduced at a later date.
Exterior — 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLC carries over the family design

Design of the 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLC with EQ Technology stays unmistakably GLC yet reinterprets the brand’s face with a new chromed grille and optional 942-dot illuminated “pixel” graphic.

Full-LED headlights are standard while Digital Light with micro-LEDs are optional. Aerodynamics are class-leading at Cd 0.26. A panoramic sun roof is standard, while the optional Sky Control roof can switch between transparent and opaque and even light up 162 stars at night.

Wheels are offered up to 21 inches, and star-shaped LED tail lamps can animate during unlock or charging.
Interior — 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLC with EQ Technology features an expansive display

What catches the eye immediately is the massive and seamless 39.1-inch MBUX Hyperscreen — the largest in any Mercedes-Benz to-date. The MBUX Hyperscreen offers exceptional sharpness is thanks to high resolution and innovative matrix-backlight technology.

If that’s too big, fret not, as the 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLC with EQ Technology is fitted with the MBUX Superscreen as standard (Hyperscreen is optional). The MBUX Superscreen features three separate displays under one large glass surface:
- 10.3-inch digital instrument cluster
- 14.0-inch infotainment display
- 14.0-inch passenger display
In the basic version, the passenger display serves as a digital decorative element on which a personal photo or one of 12 predefined images can be displayed. From the Advanced Plus trim level onwards, a fully functional front passenger display is fitted.

At the heart of the new MBUX infotainment system is MB.OS, which acts as a “superbrain,” processing 254 trillion operations per second (op/sec) to integrate infotainment, comfort and driver aids.

Fourth-gen MBUX supports generative AI with agents from Microsoft and Google, conversational voice, and over-the-air (OTA) updates. MB.DRIVE employs up to 10 cameras, 5 radars and 12 ultrasonic sensors for advanced assist features. Digital Light headlights, centre airbags, PRE-SAFE and over-the-air-updatable safety functions are standard.

Material choices range from Softtorino to Nappa leather, with the segment’s first Vegan Society-certified package covering seats, headliner and carpets. Space has also increased noticeably: 13 mm more front legroom, 47 mm more rear legroom, and a boot offering 570 litres (1,740 litres seats folded) plus a 128-litre frunk.
Powertrain & Range — 800-volt charging enables 303 km in 10 min

The GLC 400 4MATIC features a 94-kWh lithium-ion battery featuring silicon-oxide anodes for 680 Wh/l cell density and reduced cobalt content. An 800-V electrical architecture allows up to 330 kW DC fast charging, adding as much as 303 km in 10 minutes. A DC converter is installed on a country-specific basis, enabling 400-volt DC fast charging at selected charging stations.

Mercedes-Benz only mentioned that the GLC 400 4MATIC outputs 360 kW (489 PS) and offers up to (a preliminary) 713 km under the WLTP test cycle, while top speed is 210 km/h. Torque figures and performance figures were not mentioned.

A two-speed gearbox at the rear blends rapid launches with long-distance efficiency, while a front motor engages via a disconnect unit for all-wheel traction. Energy efficiency reaches 93% battery-to-wheel, and recuperation delivers up to 300 kW. Bidirectional charging readies the SUV for vehicle-to-home (V2H) or grid (V2G) services.

Ride & Handling — GLC takes Airmatic to the next level
Borrowing S-Class tech, the optional Airmatic suspension with adaptive damping and optional 4.5° rear-axle steering keeps the ride plush yet agile. The 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLC with EQ Technology introduces an intelligent Car-to-X damping feature: when a Mercedes-Benz vehicle ahead detects long motorway-style speed bumps, that data is anonymised, sent to the Mercedes-Benz Cloud, and relayed to following cars in real time.

The GLC then pre-adjusts its damper settings milliseconds before the axle reaches the bump, preventing harsh oscillations and keeping rear-seat passengers especially comfortable. Mercedes-Benz has patented this function, which effectively allows the suspension to “see around corners” by leveraging the sensors of other networked vehicles.

Efficiency is also improved as ride-height control now references Google Maps topography and traffic data, holding the low, aero-optimised stance longer on motorways even if speed drops for tunnels or construction zones. Drivers can still raise the body for extra ground clearance at the press of a button or by simple voice command (“Raise vehicle level”), useful on steep driveways or gravel tracks. The GLC with EQ Technology also offers Trailer Assist and a 2.4-tonne towing rating.
When will the 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLC with EQ Technology come to Malaysia?
Like the recently-debuted 2026 BMW iX3, the 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLC with EQ Technology is still very new.
That said, looking at Mercedes-Benz Malaysia’s local EQ launches timeline, the company generally introduces a brand-new model locally a year after its global debut. As such, a Q3 or Q4 2026 debut of the 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLC with EQ Technology in Malaysia is highly plausible.
