Roughly three months after the global debut of the new 2026 Toyota Hilux Travo in Thailand, its next-generation sibling model has been spotted in Thailand.
This here is likely to be the next-generation Toyota Fortuner, as seen on a Facebook post by Ong Pzautoshop.
Much of the details of this particular mule are hidden behind the camouflage, but it appears that the next-generation Fortuner could receive a full-width light bar – akin to the current Toyota Harrier. That said, there may be a possibility that the middle part of said light bar may be a trim piece that connects both tail lights, similar to the 2026 Toyota RAV4.
Then there’s the front-end shot of the model. It appears that the next-generation Toyota Fortuner could get the same raised up fascia as the Hilux Travo, possibly with a large grille in the centre of the front-end. The lack of the Toyota logo up front seems to suggest that the next-generation Fortuner could get the same Toyota script as the Hilux Travo.
There aren’t much information surrounding the next-generation Toyota Fortuner barring these blurry photos, but looking at the recent Hilux Travo and we can make an educated guess in terms of powertrain.

Seeing that the Hilux Travo carries over the same 2.8-litre turbodiesel + 6-speed automatic transmission, there is a good chance that the next-gen Fortuner would receive the same powertrain combo. In the Hilux Travo, this turbodiesel is good for 204 PS and 500 Nm.
Also, like the Hilux Travo, the next-generation Fortuner could be receiving a battery electric vehicle (BEV) variant. Of course, given that the Fortuner is more family-focused compared to the Hilux, which traditionally has been catered to the working crowd, there may be a chance that a hybrid variant may be offered.
Furthermore, the next-generation Toyota Fortuner will likely be underpinned by the same IMV platform that underpins the Hilux Travo.
