UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) has just launched the new 2026 Toyota Harrier HEV in Malaysia.
The sold 2.5-litre variant is priced from RM 289,000 (on-the-road, without insurance). It marks a RM 12,000 premium over the Harrier 2.0 Luxury SE it replaces. Yes, the new Harrier HEV supersedes the regular Harrier 2.0 in Malaysia, meaning that the Harrier line-up here is fully-electrified.
Powering the 2026 Toyota Harrier HEV is a Toyota’s fourth-generation petrol-electric hybrid powertrain, which pairs a naturally-aspirated A25A-FXS 2.5-litre petrol engine to a hybrid system for a combined system output of 217 PS.
Toyota mentions a fuel consumption figure of just 4.7 L/100 km (21.2 km/L). Drive modes include Eco, Normal, Sport, and EV.

Standard equipment doesn’t stray too far off from the Harrier 2.0 Luxury SE, as the 2.5 HEV variant also offers:
- Ventilated and heated front seats
- 12-way power-adjustable driver seat
- Automatic dual-zone climate control with nanoe X air purification
- Fix panoramic moonroof
- Digital Rear view mirror
- Wireless Apple CarPlay, wired Android Auto
- Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 ADAS suite
- Upgraded DVR with a 4k front camera and 1080p rear camera
Compared to the petrol variant, the Harrier 2.5 HEV adds a larger 12.3-inch digital driver display and head-up display (HUD). That said, the Harrier 2.5 HEV’s infotainment display measures 8.0-inch, same as before.
The Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 ADAS suite includes Pre-Collision System (PCS), Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC), Lane Trace Assist (LTA), Lane Departure Alert (LDA), and Adaptive High Beam (AHB) are inclusive. New to the Harrier HEV are pedestrian Parking Support Brake (PKSB), and Road Sign Assist (RSA).

Colour options include Grey Metallic, Platinum White Pearl Mica, and Precious Black.
As for aftersales support, the 2026 Toyota Harrier 2.5 HEV is backed by:
- 5 years unlimited mileage vehicle warranty
- 8 years unlimited mileage hybrid battery pack warranty
Owners can also choose to extend the hybrid battery pack and related hybrid components warranty for an additional 2 years, bringing the total coverage up to 10 years. The warranty is also transferrable to the subsequent owner.
