Shortly after the global debut of NA0 BMW i3 last week, leaked photos have surfaced depicting what could be the upcoming BMW M3 EV.
These photos, courtesy of Bimmerpost, depict what could be the fully-electric BMW M3 EV, codenamed ZA0.

Compared to its regular i3 sibling, the purported M3 EV gets a more aggressive front bumper, with a pair of wing-like shapes stretching across. There’s also a pair of lights dotted on each corner of the front bumper.

Furthermore, the M3 EV seen here also gets a more prominent power bulge on the hood – a throwback to earlier generation models. Speaking of bulges, these photos also seem to depict the M3 EV with a more muscular look compared to the NA0 i3.
Beyond these spyshots, not much is known about the ZA0 BMW M3 EV. AutoEvolution speculated that the model will be equipped with a large 100-kWh battery pack, which powers a quad-motor setup for an output of 1,000 PS.
What about petrol-powered BMW M3?
The good news is, there is a good chance that the petrol-powered BMW M3 will live on, albeit with some form of electrification to keep emissions in check, especially with strict Euro 7 emission regulations just around the corner. At least, the next-gen BMW M3, codenamed G84, will be coming in the near future. Sources indicated that the G84 M3 will enter series production in 2028 and will last until 2024.
