Volvo Car Malaysia is opening up its Selamat Driving Experience to all Malaysian drivers — not just Volvo owners — at the Sepang International Circuit’s Driving Experience Centre on 16- and 17-May 2026.
The event is part of Volvo’s broader Selamat campaign, launched in January 2026, which aims to reframe road safety as a shared responsibility rather than a spec sheet checkbox. The backdrop isn’t encouraging, as the Department of Statistics Malaysia recorded 4,428 transport-related fatalities in 2024, of which 2,574 were aged between 15 and 40.

At the event, participants get to experience Volvo’s safety systems in a controlled track environment under certified driving instructors. This includes Safe Space Technology, which uses real-world data and AI to predict and respond to risks before they escalate.
Slots are capped at 192 participants on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration fees are RM 300 for non-Volvo owners, RM 150 for Volvo owners, and RM 100 for non-participating guests. Volvo owners are limited to one registration per VIN. Minors under 18 are strongly discouraged from attending given the active track environment.

Patricia Yaw, Sales and Marketing Director of Volvo Car Malaysia, said, “Every other day brings another coverage of road accidents, another fatality. We often take safety for granted, growing apathetic and even careless, simply because it hasn’t happened to us yet. But behind every number is a person who didn’t come home. The Selamat Driving Experience aims to transform that abstraction into something real by bringing these stories and experiences into an immersive space where the cost of quiet complacency becomes impossible to ignore.”
She added, “Yes, the driver is always ultimately responsible for the safe operation of the vehicle, but Volvo’s role as a pioneer in automotive safety is to help protect and care for everyone in and around a Volvo car — to help shape a safer world. Selamat is a shared responsibility, and ours is to advocate for people to return home safely to their loved ones.”
Registration is open at volvocarmalaysia.com/selamat-driving-experience.
